In September, 1971, I began teaching Spanish at Liberty Junior-Senior High School in Liberty, N.Y. It was either that year or the next that I met Maureen who was teaching Home Economics with Jean Harrold. We all became very friendly, going here or there and having fun. Maureen even taught me how to crochet! I'd go home and practice, and she'd answer any of my questions the next day. The lessons were valuable---even during the Pandemic, I crocheted! After Maureen and Hank married, I'd drive down to their house and visit. Christine Pfeil also joined the Home Economics staff and also became very friendly with Maureen.
I was recruited by a school on Long Island, and so I left Liberty. However, Maureen and I NEVER lost touch. She even visited Chris and me on Long Island! Bill and I drove up to the Monticello area to stop in and visit with Maureen and Hank. We've had lots of fun gatherings over the years. I know she was delighted to have moved near her children and grandchildren. That made her life so special! She will be greatly missed by all. Maureen was a lovely, generous, caring person. I feel so lucky to have known her.
With love and sympathy,
