Melanie Johnston's Obituary
Our beloved Melanie Jean Johnston, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, June 30th, 2022.
Melanie was born October 18, 1954, the daughter of Hoyt Johnston and the late Jean Johnston.
She is survived by Sister, Suzette Barker (David), Brothers, Wesley Johnston (Lee) and Eric Johnston (Jessica), nephews Derrick Barker, Hunter Johnston, Sam Norwood, Galen Johnston, Wilson Johnston and nieces Serenity Johnston, Kelsey Johnston and Elleigh Johnston, Aunts Emily Adkins, Angie Ross (Sonny) and Brenda Gladden.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Jean G Johnston, Grandparents Evans and Lilly Johnston and John and Elva Gladden, Aunt Nancy Heard and Uncle Bob Gladden. Extended family Paul (Sue) Hsu, Michael Hsu and family, Michelle Cyr and family. Patrick and Vickie Starnes.
She was a 1972 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. Her career was in the food industry where she was employed with Prestige Farms, Harold Foods and Montfort Meats.
Melanie came into our world as hurricane Hazel finished its course of travel. She was the most loving, kind and joyful person the world could hope for and was a giver of herself to her family and friends. We will miss her warm and loving spirit but rejoice that she is totally healed and resting in peace with those who preceded her in death.
A celebration of her life will be held July 7, 2022 at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Visitation will be at 10:00am and the service of celebration will be at 11:00am.
