I met Mike and Kim and their German Shepard Zemo about 15 years ago in Pawleys Island showing them property. Mikes first but certainly not last sage advice to me as I sat in the backseat of their car with Zemo was not to make any sudden moves or get too close to Kim and Zemo would probably not eat me. It was the beginning of a great friendship.
Several years later my young teenage daughter took her first solo road trip and got lost in Charlotte late on Sunday night. I called Mike and he and Kim found her and led her safely out of Charlotte. Mike knew she had an interest in writing and sent her a book on writing. She still has that book in her apartment in New York where she is making a living as a writer.
I have not seen Mike since the Covid epidemic but we spoke by phone on a regular basis. Mike could speak intelligently on any subject with his wry sense of humor. I always felt better about myself and life after those conversations. As good a conversationist as he was he was a better listener. I will miss those conversations
Godspeed Mike
