Morris Haywood's Obituary
Morris Lee Haywood, 55, of Kannapolis, formerly of Huntersville died January 9, 2017. He was born on September 13, 1961 in Wilmington, NC to the late Ronald and Sharon Haywood. Morris was a graduate of Wingate University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a pastor, volunteer fireman, and EMT and was currently working part-time in the medical transport field. Morris had a heart of gold and wanted to help every living thing. This world was better while he was in it.
Survivors include his soulmate Gerri Russell Holland of Kannapolis; son, Matthew Haywood of Kannapolis; 8 special furbabies; grandmother, Margaret Kennerly of Mooresville; sister, Lauren Haywood and her daughters, Gabriella and Sophia of Mooresville; also a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Davidson with Rev. David Buck officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM prior. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
