When we first moved to Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Anne was one of the persons I met as I volunteered to work with the VBS. She and I worked together on crafts that summer. I learned of her expert sewing and knitting skills and admired the lovely handbags she made. She was a gifted woman whose red hair and warm smile drew me to her. Rest in peace, dear Anne. Lynda Cock
Our sincere condolences to Greg and Richard and all the Hicks family. Kent and I have so many fond memories of times spent with Anne and Richard, over many years of being close neighbors and friends.
*playing games and cards on weekends
* floating in the cove with a tall drink while we solved all the problems of the world (and of course our neighborhood and families)
*watching Jeopardy in the afternoons while consuming loads of Cheez-Its and/or popcorn
*Richard's apple pies
*Anne's flower garden (and shared plants and advice!)
*taking tole painting classes together
*shopping for fabrics and planning and sharing project plans
*the 25th anniversary sampler that Anne made and presented to us
*bear hugs by the boys until I could hardly breathe
*going foraging in the fall for natural stuff for arrangements
*their German shepherd, Hilda

Even when their fortunes turned, we remained close and shared many adventures and good times. The Hicks's will remain close in our hearts as we treasure so many fond memories.
