Myraline "Anne" Jones Hicks' Obituary
Myraline "Anne" Jones Hicks, 89, passed away July 4, 2026. She had been under hospice care for nearly a year, while residing at an assisted living facility in Mooresville NC. In true Anne fashion, she went out while fireworks were going off and the nation was celebrating all around.
Anne was born in Apache, OK in 1937 and grew up in Oklahoma City, graduated from Classen High School in 1955. She married Richard Hicks in 1957.
Anne was a long-time member of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a Stephen Minister, a VBS leader, a Circle Leader and a leader in the sewing/prayer shawl ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents James Jones & Mollie (Davis) Jones and her sister Bettylou Jelden.
Anne is survived by her sons, Richard Hicks Jr of Denver NC and Greg Hicks (Leslie) of Mooresville NC, her grandson Richard "Trey" Hicks III (Tameka) and her beloved great-grandsons Luca Hicks and Mason Hicks all of Madisonville TN. She also leaves behind extended family members and many longtime friends
The family will have a private memorial together later this year at one of Anne's favorite places, Holden Beach NC.
