There aren't many days that go by without me remembering one of my favorite uncles. I was devastated to learn of his passing. It still haunts me today. He was soft spoken, kind, & hilarious when he wanted to be. Sometimes I'll be talking to my dog or cat & my mind will say, "That's the way Uncle Gene used to say that." I loved his laugh the most. I have the best memory of him having to come fix my parent's stove when I caught it on fire trying to bake a Thanksgiving Turkey (wasn't my first turkey; was my first grease fire). I wish I could've known him better. Those that knew him were blessed to have had his presence & friendship in their life. It's been 3 years now & I still miss you, terribly.
