Pedro Jose Espada Claudio's Obituary
Pedro Jose Espada Claudio, 40, of Charlotte, North Carolina, transitioned peacefully on August 3, 2024. Pedro was born on November 20, 1983, in Brockton, Massachusetts, son of Dolores Galarza and the late Jose Espada.
Pedro was a devoted and loving father and is survived by his wife Latasha Ashcraft and his sons Joell and Josiah Claudio. He took pride in being a parent and participating in his sons’ sporting activities. He was an avid fisherman and passed that hobby on to Joell and Josiah by teaching them how to fish. He was passionate about world history including boxing history and enjoyed judging boxing and mixed martial arts.
Pedro was nicknamed “Poopie” at a young age which stuck with him by many family members and friends left behind including his parents Dolores and Angel Galarza (stepfather); maternal grandparents Jacquelyn Claudio, Pedro and Patricia Claudio; paternal grandparents Dharma and Orlando Espada; his aunts Maria DeSisto, Christina Claudio, and the late Aileen Espada; his cousin Joshua Claudio; his father-in-law Lindy Hammonds (Regina) and his mother-in-law Rena Massey (Barry); and an extended family of siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 11th from 2pm-4pm at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. Visitation will be from 2-3pm and the last hour will be a tribute to Pedro and open for anyone who would like to speak a few words.
