Marella Colyvas
Hello family of Peggy -- I didn't know any of you, and it has been a very long time since Peggy and I spoke. I remember being told when she moved from CO back to NC in 2019. We hadn't spoken in several years before that. So that's a while ago.
Peggy and I were part of a small group of cat lovers in CO. We named ourselves the Cat Collectors Club, because we collected cat-themed "stuff" -- not cats! We even had a convention in Las Vegas! It was wild. Peggy was the big mover and shaker to get this little 'convention' going. I think we had about 15 visitors to our convention, besides the five or six of us cat lovers. We had all kinds of figurines and other cat related items to view (and purchase).
One amazing thing Peggy and I did, along with our friend Annette, was to dress up like cats and slide down a mountain in the snow in a sled made entirely out of cardboard on the A-Basin ski resort in the Arapaho National Forest, CO. The event was called the Cardboard Derby. We didn't make it down the mountain the whole way, the cardboard sled stopped at a flatter place on the slope, but boy did we have fun! This was in 2002.
Anyway, I thought you all would like to read about this, if I'm not too late in posting anything. Thanks to our friend Annette for letting us all know about Peggy's passing and this site.
-Marella Colyvas, fellow cat lover.
