Philip Larry Yarbrough Jr.'s Obituary
Philip Larry Yarbrough, Jr., 57, of Charlotte passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 6, 1962, in Cary, NC to the Philip and the late Angela Yarbrough, Sr.
Starting in 2001, Philip was a faculty member at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC for 19 years. Even though he was well respected and highly intelligent, he was a child at heart. His passion was rock and roll music where he learned to play the guitar and drums. His favorite bands were Kings X, Rush, and Black Sabbath and his favorite musicians were Jethro Tull, and Richie Blackmore. He also had a few past times and hobbies that he enjoyed including watching classic horror movies (Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolf Man) and playing computer and video games. His favorite superhero was Batman, but he is best known by his family as a man of faith, a loving husband, a great dad, very funny, and patient.
Philip is survived by his wife, Janna Son-Yarbrough; daughters, Maura and Maeve Yarbrough; father, Philip Yarbrough, Sr.; sister, Cindy Thompson (Roy); and niece, Rebecca Thompson.
