Phyllis Pawlak Carlson's Obituary
Phyllis Pawlak Carlson, 78, passed away October 9, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren.
Born in Chicago, April 22, 1937, Phyllis was a devout Catholic with a strong Polish heritage. After marrying Chuck, they moved to Louisville, KY in 1970 where they raised their children and retired. Phyllis enjoyed cooking (especially family recipes), baking, bridge, choir and caring for others. She relished gardening and served as church gardener for a number of years. In 2010, she moved to Charlotte, where as a 5-year resident of The Laurels, she is remembered as a gentle and appreciative friend.
Phyllis’ immediate family includes her daughter Lisa McKenzie (Chris); son Eric (Celeste Siade) of Denver, CO: six grandchildren Nathan, Alex and Katie Carlson and Sarah, Anna and Mary McKenzie. The family extends its deepest gratitude to the loving caregivers who provided such tender care for Phyllis.
A memorial celebration will be held at 3pm on October 13th at The Laurels of Highland Creek. A Mass will be in Louisville at a later date. Donations in Phyllis’ name may be made to CampLUCK www.campluck.com/donate.
