Ricardo "Rick" Lessey Sr.'s Obituary
Ricardo "Rick" Emilio Lessey, Sr. 73 of Cornelius, died March 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 1, 1946 in Panama to the late Lloyd and Lestina Lessey.
Upon graduating from Rainbow City High School in Panama, he moved to NY where he then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He then began his career on Wall Street while taking night classes to earn his bachelors degree. 1993 brought a new opportunity in N.C. with managing the brokerage department at First Union Bank where his professionalism and expertise continued to bring him success with career and friendship. If you did right by him, there were no lengths that he wouldn’t go to help you be the best version of yourself. He was truly the rock of our family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gladys Lessey.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky of Brooklyn and Jonathan of Cornelius; brother, Aurelio Lessey; sister, Gloria Lessey-Cummings; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 2 at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
