Richard Carpenter Rudisill,'s Obituary
Mr. Richard “Dick” Carpenter Rudisill Sr, 92, of Davidson, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 peacefully at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, North Carolina.
Dick was born on February 2, 1926 to the late David and Mary Celeste Rudisill of Gastonia. Dick was a member of Davidson United Methodist Church. He started his career working at Delph Hardware in Charlotte and then worked for Celetex Corporation, to then spend numerous years in the roofing industry working for GAF roofing and lastly ending his career working for ABC Roofing Supply In charlotte where he excelled in roofing sales earning numerous awards with the corporation as salesman of the year. Dick truly loved life and loved to laugh and smile any chance he could. He enjoyed traveling, walking outdoors, watching UNC Tarheel sporting events, singing in the choir, and most importantly spending time with his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Rudisill, and his loving Granddaughter Elizabeth Rudisill Hayes. Dick is preceded in death by his mother Mary Celeste Rudisill, father David Hunter Rudisill, Brother David Rudisill, and wife Frances Cashion Rudisill.
Dick is survived in death by his three sons, Richard Carpenter Rudisill Jr (Wife Pam Rudisill), Kevin Rudisill, and Kyle Rudisill, along with his Granddaughter Elizabeth Rudisill Hayes (Husband Lee Hayes).
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11am at Davidson United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 10-11 in the fellowship hall prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Davidson United Methodist Church or the Gordon Hospice House of Statesville.
