Richard Driscoll's Obituary
Richard Thomas Driscoll, 64, of Cornelius, died September 19, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 10, 1947 in Roanoke, VA to the late Clifford and Erma Driscoll. Richard served in the US Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was an active philanthropist with the Toys for Tots and a member of the Marine Corps League. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from a 30 year career with Norfolk Southern Railroad in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years Pamela (Pam) Neely Driscoll; son, Brian Driscoll and wife Anna of Charlotte; daughter, Katie Driscoll Hoyle and husband Robert of Raleigh; brother, Charles Driscoll and wife Donna of Richmond, VA and sister, Donna Stover and husband Danny of Vinton, VA; He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Sam and Neely Hoyle and Ella Grace and Henry Driscoll.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2012 at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville from 6-8 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Bellow officiating.
