Rod Williams' Obituary
Rodney Terrell Williams, age 47, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born in Buffalo, New York, on April 22, 1971, the son of Shirley Williams Melvin of Charlotte and the late Donnell Williams and the husband of Bethzaida (Betsy) Casado Williams and father to Blake Mateo Williams all of Charlotte.
Rodney earned his Bachelors degree from Fredonia State University in New York and went on to become a successful entrepreneur. He was the co-owner of Transportation Professionals and Alpha Transportation along with his great friends, Ron Hall and Daniel Ward.
Rod was trained and believed at a very young age about the goodness of the Lord. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and NY Yankees. He was completely devoted to his family. He loved the times his family and friends gathered together and listening to Reggae music as that was one of his favorite past times. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed the great outdoors. He had an enormous sense of humor and “larger than life” personality.
In addition to his mother, Shirley, wife, Betsy and son, Blake, Rodney leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Anthony Williams (Beatrice) of Mesa, AZ, sister, Danyale Jacobs (Richard) of Harrisburg, NC , parents-in-law, Juan and Carmen Casado of Buffalo, NY, sisters-in-law, Carmen Casado, Celia Casado (Tali), nephews, Demetruis, Gabriel, Giovanni, nieces, Brittney (Jeff), Dominique, Aniya, Azuria, Jasmine, Tatiana, great nephew, Easton, great niece, Brielle and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville. A Wake will be held at 11:00 am, followed by homegoing services at 12:00 pm Saturday, June 2 in the Sanctuary of University City Church, 1994 University City Church Dr, Huntersville, with Pastor Dr. Michael A. Stevens, Sr., officiating.
Before his untimely passing he had made plans with his wife and son to move to the country. His burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, June 5, in Pollocksville Cemetery, Pollocksville, NC.
