Romus Myers Jr.'s Obituary
Romus Myers, Jr. 72, of Charlotte died June 13, 2023. He was born on December 3, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Romus and Elsie Myers.
Romus was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. He then started his military career by joining the Marine Corps in 1969. After his stint in the Marine Corps, Romus began his professional career. He held various positions as a governmental worker, most notably at the Philadelphia US Naval Shipyard, finally retiring from the US Postal Service. In addition to his work career, Romus was also a businessman. Until recent years, he proudly served so many with his tax preparation services. As a husband he supported and contributed to his wife's many successful business ventures. As a father, always present, he provided his every resource to all of his children and grandchildren in achieving their endeavors and goals. A deacon in his church and a pillar in his community, Romus was a man of great faith! He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1995, and from that time on has compassionately ministered God's message of hope and redemption to people of all walks of life. Romus will be remembered as a generous man, full of strength, wisdom, kindness, wonderful humor and great love.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Myers.
Survivors include sons, Romus Myers, III (Dawn) of Charlotte and Jaye Pondexter (Crystal) of Burlington, NJ; daughters, Rasheida Phillips (David), Angel Myers, Brandi Myers Howard, all of Charlotte and Crystal Murray (William) of Willingboro, NJ; sister, Marie Jones of Philadelphia, PA and 13 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Friday, June 23 at James Funeral Home. Funeral will be held at 10 AM Saturday, June 24 at James Funeral Home.
