Ruben was a fine man. He was my neighbor growing up. My mom always tells the story of when my little brother (who was 4-5 at the time) asking Ruben if he had gotten him anything for his birthday. Ruben looked down at him and said "No, boy, And if you ask me again I'm gonna slap you naked and hide your clothes!"
I will always remember helping my dad load wood into the truck and taking it to Rubens to use his log splitter, I will remember the first time he hollered for Christina, "Mac-N-Booger, come here!" I looked at her like we were in trouble, she just smiled and said "Daddy is just messin' around."
Ruben was always over at our house fixing pipes or helping with the lawn mower. He will always be remembered for his selfless ways. All of our love and memories are with the family right now. "Lord, wrap your arms around them and offer them peace and comfort as you welcome that wonderful man home."
