Scott Allen Dodson's Obituary
Scott Allen Dodson, 46, of Huntersville died September 13, 2022 after a long illness. He was born on November 6, 1975 in Altoona, PA to Randy and Judy Dodson. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and most importantly he loved Jesus. He loved to laugh and joke and make others laugh. He was loved by so many.
Scott spent most of his life working. He started at a young age with a neighborhood paper route. He looked after his beloved younger brothers Jeff and Paul. In high school, he worked with his best buddies at a local grocery store in the produce section which he claimed to be his best job ever. His love of fruit remained until his death. You might also have found him getting in trouble at Pizza Hut making illegal creations in the back. His love of Engineering began while working with Ray Snyder on Penn Dot projects in high school. While attending Gannon University, he worked G.U.E.S.T services. He spotted his future wife while working in the local girls dorm. Scott played football at Gannon University. When yet another job offer came from General Electric Locomotives, Scott hung up the cleats to for a better opportunity. Scott graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. Once again, Scott found himself pushing for more, someone told him he could not work in the Chemical Industry. When told no, Scott would work even harder to find a way. He went to work for GE Plastics in Evansville, IN; Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; and Burkville, AL . He managed 2 different plants at the Burkville location. When GE sold the company, Scott found himself in a completely new industry. He worked for HAWE Hydraulics in Charlotte, NC for almost ten years and had management responsibilities for the Houston, TX location also. There Scott lost two amazing men which he grieved until his death. His final years were spent with his friend who was like a brother, Mark Paxton, at Hansa-Flex USA. Scott made relationships through the last 6 years traveling around the country. One of his favorite sales efforts was BAD BOY MOWERS in Arkansas. He would even tease Kim about moving the family to Arkansas.
Scott loved his family, including each of his Springer Spaniels Abbey, Winston & Ike. He loved his wife and wanted more than anything to make her happy. He granted her dream of being a stay at home mom of 4 beautiful children. He worked tirelessly to provide a good life for his children whom he adored. He loved to bath them as babies and gave them a million nick names. He promised them that they would never have to worry about be teased because he teased them enough at home.
Scott loved people. He spent 7 years working with a bus ministry at Westport Baptist AWANA. He spent many nights after a long day at work driving a van and picking up children and bringing them to church. He shared his love of Jesus with all who came. He helped Coach Pop Warner Football but he was the one quietly encouraging the boys from the sidelines. He even helped his favorite buddy get his helmet over his big noggin. Quiet Pride was his motto. It came from his college fraternity Alpha Phi Delta. He loved his fraternity brothers but his love extended even further to a whole community of Gannon friends. Scott loved his nieces and nephews greatly. They brought him so much joy. He would have adopted the neighbor kids too. He always made sure the freezer was full of popsicles just in case the neighbors came over. In his final days, he found comfort at the Blanchard Institute and at Overflow Addiction Ministry. There he met people who would help to heal his soul. Scott is now in heaven. He will be awaiting his family some day.
Scott is survived by his parents Randy & Judy Dodson of Duncansville, PA; his wife Kimberly Dodson; sons, Brennan, Haze and Gavin; daughter, Reagan of Huntersville, NC ; brothers Jeff Dodson, wife Kimberly and Paul Dodson and wife April.
