Mr. Sidney "Sid" Malven Abramsky, 94, of Huntersville passed away May 25, 2024. Sid was a native of Poughkeepsie, NY and was born May 21, 1930, to the late Jacob and Miriam Abramsky and he was the youngest of their five children. Read Obituary
Sid was my manager at IBM Charlotte in the early 1980's. He was very good at his job,,, of course one usually remembers the personal notes better than the work details. Sid would sometimes stop at my office to chat. I learned that in Sid's childhood in Poughkeepsie, kids would jump into the Hudson River in hopes of collecting coins thrown by folks on the tourist boats... Also, as a baseball fan I was fascinated to hear that Sid and his wife were on the scene for the inaugural season of the New York Mets (1962), and went to a few games. Rick Wessell, Troutman
Sid and Pearl welcomed us with open arms when we moved to Huntersville, NC in 1987.
They were wonderful friends who shared many wonderful times with us. When Pearl passed away, it left an emptiness in Sid, but he continued life and was a true fighter. We loved seeing his miniature trains and receive his beautiful needlepoint artwork. He was one of a kind, a true and beautiful gentleman. He will be missed. With much love, Donna and Andy Leeds

I will always remember Sid as the perfect gentleman he was with wise words of advice and encouragement. Our many interesting and also humorous conversations will be treasured as well as the friendship I had with both Sid and Pearl. May their memory be for a blessing. I was honored to have known Sid over the last several years. He always had a smile, a warm hug and a joke whenever we were together. He was a loving and devoted husband to Pearl and I know they’re together enjoying a joke and a cuddle again.
The world got a little darker Saturday when Sid’s candle went out. He meant so much to so many people and he’ll be greatly missed.
Arnie and I are so sorry about the loss of Sid.He was a kind and wonderful person.
