Stephen Ellis Raymond, 50, of Huntersville, North Carolina, passed away on October 8, 2025. Stephen was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Bettina Raymond, and their cherished son, Max Read Obituary
I'm so very saddened to hear of Stephen's passing. To say I'm in total shock would be a profound understatement. As for my fondest memory, well, that's easy...I had the great fortune of attending Stephen and Bettina's wedding in Bettina's home town of Steingaden, Bavaria. There is an interesting custom where, before the reception, the bride is 'stolen' and the groom has to find her. This entails first changing into some hilarious tradional garb (due to an excess of alcohol, I don't remember every detail of his clothing but I know it involved overalls and a straw hat) and then being brought around to every bar in town until he finally ends up at the bar at which Bettina was secreted away. Of course those 'assissting' Stephen on this mission knew of Bettina's location all along and purposefully led Stephen to every other bar first, lol. It's was all great fun and when Stephen finally showed up we were all quite inebriated and having a great time. So many events of that trip are some of my most cherished memories and I felt honored to have been invited and wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Stephen Raymond ❤️ … it’s still so unreal to think this has happened . I have known stephen for nearly 40 years with him being my best friend’s big brother . I can remember so many spend the night togethers, water park, babysitting Lauren, ordering pizza , laughing , fussing and fighting, running up and down Eagle Drive , driving their mamas van in and out of the garage when he wasn’t supposed to - all of the things brothers with little sisters do that make such good memories to look back on . I was always so proud of Stephen and how successful he became in his life and career -but when he became a husband and a daddy, to know THAT Stephen , that was when his life began . He loved his family so much . I remember when Stephen, Heather and Lauren had to say their goodbyes to their mama , Stephen seemed so strong and held his sisters close even with his own broken heart. Prayers and love from The King family in Mississippi , to the entire Raymond family. I love all of you and am so sorry.
