Stephen Raymond's Obituary
Stephen Ellis Raymond, 50, of Huntersville, North Carolina, passed away on October 8, 2025.
Stephen was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Bettina Raymond, and their cherished son, Max Raymond. He also leaves behind his father, Ralph Raymond, and sisters, Heather Stidham and Lauren Valencia (Darren) along with nieces and nephews Clayton, Theresa, McKenzie, Johannes, and Camille. He was preceded in death by his mother, Chalon Huffman.
Before beginning his long and successful career in cybersecurity, Stephen proudly served in the United States Army. His time in service shaped his character, instilling discipline, loyalty, and a deep sense of purpose that carried through his life.
Stephen built a respected career in cybersecurity, working at Palo Alto Networks and serving in the industry for more than 25 years. Known for his sharp mind, quick problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence, he was admired by colleagues and friends alike. As a natural mentor, he guided many—not just in their careers, but in life.
Outside of work, Stephen lived a full life. He loved hunting trips to the shanty, relaxing getaways especially to Bald Head Island, watching Formula 1, quoting movie lines and listening to music. Travel, good food, laughter, and hosting friends were joys he shared with Bettina, creating many unforgettable memories along the way. He also had a deep love for his pets - Mia, Vega, Molly and Pumpkins.
Family was central to Stephen’s life. He took great pride in the family he built and the family he came from in Mississippi — always finding ways to support, visit, and bring everyone together. He also warmly embraced Bettina’s family in Germany, often hosting and building bonds across oceans. Stephen believed in the strength and beauty of a blended family and showed love and care to all who were part of his life.
Stephen had a magnetic personality—serious when it mattered, but always warm, humorous, and filled with a quick wit that could light up any room. His spirit, sarcasm, and presence remain unforgettable to those who knew him.
Stephen’s memory will live on through the laughter, love, and countless stories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at James Funeral Home, with burial to follow at NorthLake Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation in his honor to the American Liver Foundation.
