We, the Rhyne family, are so sorry to hear of Thad's passing. My Daddy, Henry (Buster) Rhyne, knew and thought the world of Thad. They shared an interest in the farming which was Daddy's hobby. He and Thad I am sure could tell many a story on each other.
Sue and family, please know we lift each of you up in prayers for God to comfort you during these times of sorrow. May God keep each of you wrapped in his arms and give continued Peace.
My Mom, Sarah Blythe, loved for me to drive her to your home and get fresh sausage. She thought a lot of your family.
To Carolyn, Ella Mae, Ginny, Little Thad, I send my condolences. My dear departed friend Lynda and I visited often with her family that she loved and I loved the stories and words of wisdom from her parents. I still quote her father’s favorite saying....why would you go anywhere else when you live right here in the Garden of Eden. The visits for chocolate pie by Carolyn and the homemade sausage by Little Thad were highlights enjoyed by Lynda and me. What an institution of North Mecklenburg this wonderful family was for many years. We all benefited from knowing them and the connections to them in our lives were always there. Little Thad was the first nephew and adored by Lynda. When I met him on one of these special family trips, he told me I was his art teacher at Long Creek along with the twins Ronnie and Randy. I remember seeing Lynda and Thad’s mother working at North for our social activities. So many fond memories. Love to all of you.

Uncle Thad will truly be missed. I remember all the times I spent at the Reames houses spending time with Carolyn and Thad at that big old white house with a mile long drive way and the little white house next to Long Creek Elementary. At the house on Reames Rd, I was there baby sitting, helping Carolyn with the twins, and just having fun. I'll always remember the Chrstmas Eves spent there eating and playing games with all of them. We definitely had the loudest and happiest of times there. I think of Thad's booming voice when we walked in the door into the den and he'd say,." Hello there, Cathy." Thad was one of a klnd; a friendly man who often had a mean grump for you, a loving and doting husband to Carolyn, and a great father to his six kids. Then when the grandkids and great-grandkids came along, his demeanor softened a bit as he showed his love for all of them. I'm sure he's enjoying his farming and auctions up there in Heaven. Say hello to my Mama and Daddy when you see them for me. I know you and my Daddy have a lot to catch up on.
To you Carolyn and all the family, our thoughts and prayers are being sent to the Lord on your behalf, praying you feel his presence at this time with the loss of Thad.
I have good memories of when I was a kid that Thad Jr and I would get in the cattle truck and head down to Merita Bakery on Beatties Ford Road near downtown Charlotte and get all those doughnuts and cakes and all kinds of sweets that Thad would get to give to the hogs to fatten them up for sale. The sweets were still good and we would eat so much on the way back its a wonder the sugar didn't send us to the moon all jacked up with sugar.
Blessings and hugs to you all,
Darrell and Debbie Ashford
At this sad time we send our heartfelt sympanty to the family of Thad Reames. What an outstanding man who lived his life working hard, and enjoying evey minute. A real legend in his own time. Extremely intelligent, but still very much down to earth as he went about his life each day.
Brown has many fond memories of the days when he and Thad were boys, and of trips he and Thad made to the farm in Anson County, and our property in Grayson, Va. Also the frequent phone conversations when "all the world's problems" woud be solved according to their views. Thad was Brown's oldest friend and will be greatly missed.

It was with great sadness to hear about Thad. Our family has many fond memories and stories about Thad Ann his Dad. I’m sure Billy and Thad are sharing those stories in heaven.
