Thomas Frank Oehler,'s Obituary
Huntersville-- Thomas Frank Oehler, II., Chip, devoted and loving husband, father, brother and son, passed away on August 23, 2012 at his home in Huntersville, N.C. Chip was born on October 4, 1962 to Tommy and Grace Ann Blanton Oehler. He grew up in Mallard Creek, attended Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church and graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1980 where he was very involved in the student council. From there Chip worked at Belk, and for the past twenty-two years has issued licenses to many friends and family members while working for the NC Division of Motor Vehicles. Chip loved watching his son, Miles, succeed in both academics and athletics. He also played a large part in the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church BBQ; from making the original papier-mâché pig while in 4-H, to decorating the entrance of the serving line.
Chip is survived in death by his wife Lisa Bechtel Oehler, son Miles Oehler, sister Lee Ann Oehler, father Tommy Oehler and mother Grace Ann Blanton Oehler.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Wilkerson officiating. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial at the church.
