Uwe Roper 86, of Denver NC passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born June 8,1936, to John and Katherine Roper of Hamburg, Germany. He became an engineer and left Germany to work abroad in South Africa and Rhodesia with Ple Read Obituary
I would like to send my sincere condolences to Uwe’s Family. I would also like to correct some mistakes in the obituary. Uwe did not work for Pleuger in South Africa nor when he moved to Zambia, he started Woking for Pleuger in 1970 when he and his wife and daughter moved to Hamburg Germany. In 1973 they moved to America still working for Pleuger submersible pumps not in 1983.

We only really met late within our lives, but what a privilege to have been able to share our lives with you.
The example you set for those around you, the magic aurora you had that drew people towards you, like a magnet, this made you stand out in a crowd.
While visiting us, you always found some way to help us, something to fix or repair, and did that without any expectations.
Our long chats over tbe phone, your wisdom and guidance will never been forgotten.
We will think about you always, we talk about you still, although far away, you never been forgotten, and you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again.

I have no words, certainly not words that can express how much you meant to me, and how much I will miss you!
You were the most amazing grandfather any grandson could ask for. You have taught me so much through the years, and a large part of who I am today is because of wisdom you shared and influence you had on me.
I did not get to spend as much time with you as I would have liked, South Africa was just so far away! The times I did get to spend with you, are times I will forever treasure, with the most wonderful memories.
You will forever be in my thoughts and memories, I LOVE YOU Grandpa! Always will.

I have lived at Harborgate for 28 years so have known Uwe and Carol a long time. Great people, great friends, always welcoming and helpful to my family. Uwe built the stair railing at the beach so my parents could get in and out of the water ❤️.
Uwe you will be greatly missed, and Carol our hearts go out to you.
Uwe and Carol were some of the first people we met when we moved to Harborgate Condominiums over 27 years ago. They became dear friends and neighbors, and we shared a lot of good times together.
Uwe and Carol moved to Trilogy something like 4 years ago and we instrumental in us moving here a little over two years ago.
Uwe, you will be missed by many who were your friends and respected you. Carol, not sure what to say but you have our prayers and any support you may need.
