i love you papaw
I just loved that sweet man for some many reasons but this is just a funny story…Wib always carried $2.00 bills. I would see him at the grocery store and he would pay with $2.00 bills and I ask him, Web where did you get them and he said at my bank just down the road, they always have them. Sooo I went to his bank and ask for some $2.00 bills for birthday cards and such, I didn’t need but a few…. I was told at the bank that they didn’t ever have $2.00 bills🤷♂️ So the next time I saw Wib I Told him what they said, he told me to go back to the bank and tell them that Wib Overcash told me that they did!!! Well that’s what I did and I left with some $2.00 bills.
Great memories from when we were all teen and playing in the lake all day and sleeping in the old house. The whole family Super awesome people. Love you all!

I extend my deepest condolences to the family.
Our families were very close and I have many fond memories of doing things together at Lake Norman, going to the beach, and many other adventures.
He had such a great outlook on life and will be missed.

Wib and Jean were friends to my parents, Don & Hansel Harry. Wib took me to Washington, D.C. with his son Larry in his 18 wheeler. We got to see the sights and monuments of Washington. Great trip. Thank you Wib.
I remember fondly of going to Weelikit when I was 14 where Lake Norman was starting to become a lake. We drove down to the water in an old Chevy where we swam. As the lake became full, we started riding in Wib's boat and learning to water ski. I thank Wib for those memories, including installing his first pier that my father built for him in 18 degree sleet!
After my parents died, Wib became one of my best friends and he instead of my father helped me fix and maintain our Yellow Boat (see Photos & Videos section). Very fond memories of Wib instructing me how to fog the engine for the winter, install a new steering wheel, etc. Wib and I kept the Yellow Boat running every year.
Jan and I enjoyed Wib stopping over at our house on Riverchase Dr. and visiting when we were beating the Austin, Texas heat and migrating to LKN for the summer. We would go eat with him at Captain's Cap for seafood and Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Of course one of our favorite things to do was go to Carolina Cone and eat delicious ice cream while Wib ate his usual banana split.
What memories. What a great man, great father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
We will miss Wib.

Friends like Wib & Jean are priceless. Our families worked and played together with loads of joy shared from square dances at Nevins Derita, North Meck Men’s Club building Allen Hills ballparks, sharing the Weelikit farmhouse as the waters of Lake Norman filled, eating banana splits at Carolina Cone… amongst so many other memories … Thanks Wib and family!
